My name is Jörn Koblitz and I am the publisher and editor of the MetBase Meteorite Information Database and Bibliography of Meteoritics and Planetary Sciences. I am also the curator of the MetBase Library of Meteoritics and Planetary Sciences, which is located in Bremen, Germany.

A few words about my background: born in 1961 in Hamburg, I studied materials sciences in Osnabrück and recieved my bachelor degree in engineering in 1987. I became member of the Meteoritical Society in 1983. In the late 70s, inspired by the acquisition of a rare early publication by E.F.F.Chladni (Feuermeteore) from an antiquarian bookseller, I started systematically assembling a » library of books and special prints relating to meteorites, impact craters and lunar rocks. In parallel, I put together a collection of meteorites with focus set to irons and historical - mainly German - falls.
